Narrative Description:
Plan, direct, and administer the operational and marketing efforts of the branch in such a way to achieve
profit, growth, and the objectives of the bank within the established policies and procedures. Manage the
branch efficiently and effectively with a vision to deliver the highest quality service to customers. Maintain
the branch consistency with the latest trends and industry standards. Responsible for Safwa clients' portfolio.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Branch Activities:
1. Implement and follow up the strategies of the branch network.
2. Implement and follow-up the objectives and action plans of the branch network.
3. Monitor risk and provide advice on sophisticated credit files.
4. Monitor the successful operation of the branch.
5. Monitor the quality of service in the branch.
6. Maintain full awareness of all Bank products and services.
7. Recommend policies and procedures that would better enhance the branch network.
8. Promote and maintain relationships with large Retail clients, target market segments, businessmen, trade
Organizations, economic entities, community leaders, and others to effectively market the bank.
9. Develop new business ideas and carry out plans for business development.
10. Maintain awareness of different economic conditions, money, and capital markets.
11. Evaluate and report the progress in meeting planned objectives.
12. Assure the efficiency and effectiveness of all communication channels between subordinates.
13. Carry out frequent meetings with direct subordinates.
14. Carry out periodical meetings with branch staff to motivate them and assure their congruence with the
Overall mission and vision of the bank.
15. Mentor, coach, and counsel subordinates.
16. Ensure the correct functioning and implementation of the Permanent Supervision, Compliance and
Money Laundering, Operational Risk, and Workplace Success Guidelines whenever and wherever possible.
Safwa Portfolio Responsibilities
1. Set effective action plans to achieve the Safwa Portfolio targets as designated by the Safwa Market
Management, taking into consideration any changes that may occur to the Safwa segment.
2. Responsible for managing Safwa client's requests and hosting them at the branch, maintaining QNB
ALAHLI's professional image so as to attain their optimum satisfaction level. This includes cash
Management services.
3. Guarantee that a professional level of service is offered to all Safwa clients who visit the branch (whether Recruited in this branch or in others).
4. Ensure that Safwa Clients available at the branch are directed to the Portfolio Managers to receive the optimum level of service.
5. Establish strong relationships with Safwa clients by holding meetings with Safwa clients to analyze their reports, and capture business opportunities.
6. Analyze Safwa clients' financial objectives and risk tolerance so as to offer them Bank products, which meet their demands.
7. Monitor and follow up on Safwa Clients' credit facilities performance.
8. Maintain close follow up on Safwa clients' positions, movements, expired/ overrun limits, missed loan installments and delinquent credit cards, so as to keep control of the Safwa portfolio risk.
9. Update the CRM tool with the Safwa Clients' financial objectives, and new agreements during meetings
so as to facilitate the follow up process.
10. Develop Safwa Permanent Supervision Reports for the Safwa Clients of the assigned portfolio.
11. Prepare Safwa Portfolio Status reports and present them to the Retail Head & Safwa Market.
12. Handle all complaints posed by Safwa clients.
13. Attract new Safwa clients and promote more Bank products and services to existing Safwa clients so as to achieve the portfolio target.
Dimensions of the Job:
It covers all the aspects of managing retail activities within the branch
Handling all Safwa Clients and meeting their needs at the branch with a minimum of 3 meetings with each client per year.

2 April 2009 –14 Sep 2014: Deputy Branch Manager“Safwa Portfolio Manager“at Retail Branches Network in QNB ALAHLI BANK.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Attract new Safwa clients and develop opportunities to sell additional banking products & services to existing clients, maintain and develop cross-selling transactions through cultivation of account relationships, keep personal contacts with individuals through business calls and cross selling.
Represent active daily point-of-contact for customers requesting or inquiring on different bank products (whether in person or by phone).
Maintain and develop cross-selling transactions through cultivation of account relationships.
Develop new business from prospect customers through the utilization of all services of the bank and augment services in the ones already established.
Compile and analyze customer needs, prepare loan applications (new, renewal, or modification), and provide adequate technical advice.
Receive and record customer orders, verify customer signatures, check balance, place holds on funds as required, check endorsements and validity.
Prepare & handle loan files systematically, including loan documentation, agreements, commitments, historical data, memoranda, supporting documents, IDs, investigation reports, correspondence, news clippings, and other miscellaneous forms. Maintain index of files for ready access.
Service and cooperate in other accounts in the absence of their assigned staff.
File and archive transactions and supporting document
Develop and maintain large and/or high net worth individual accounts, meet executives, counsel customers on their needs, and ensure efficiency of account management.
Assist other Relationship Managers with problems that involve changes or special handling instructions& provide knowledge transfer to colleges with less complex portfolios.
Ensure that branch procedures are consistent with bank policies and operating objectives.
Maintain professional and business relationships to increase market share.
Maintain full awareness of all bank products and services.
Keep knowledge of CBE regulations, accounting procedures, as well as various payment systems.
